You Get What You Pay For

Hi Everyone, it has been a while. I am just going to cut to the chase. I have some good news and I have some bad news. I will tell you the bad news first because it leads into the good news. The bad news is, um I am frustrated even typing it, but oh well I am sucking it up, ripping off the Band-Aid, and here it goes:

The other day we had to tear the roof off of the Catemu house. Ok now quick the good news, we put it back on again.
Ok big exhale, here it goes. There was (what we though to be) a little problem with one of the beams. We though that we could just repair the beam and then move on. We hired Christian´s corporate contractors to do it this time (because we sure as hell weren´t going to have to people that messed it up come back and fix it) and they told us that it was basically all wrong. So that is our little bit of bad news, we had to tear it off and redo it because it wasn´t right in the first place.
On the up side, now it is done 100% perfect, big smile. I also have some other good news, Christian had to lay off one of his workers (ok that isn´t good for him) but it is good for us because he does corporate construction (aka hella good and hella fast and normally hella expensive). We made friends with him (I have been stuffing Christian´s crew with empanadas, scones and coffee) so he is going to finish the interior of the house with rapid speed for us woohoo! So even though the last two weeks of work went down the pipes and we had to redo the roof, now we have a great professional who will be working on quality control.
